Why Azquo

Why Azquo? Control Without Compromise. Confidence Without Complexity. Spreadsheets That Stand Up To Scrutiny.

Why Azquo – Why We Exist

Why Azquo? Well, most organisations that handle significant volumes of data face a recurring tension. Their analytical teams think in spreadsheets — Excel is where they build models, test assumptions, and produce the numbers that drive decisions. But spreadsheets on their own lack structure, auditability, and scalability. The conventional answer is to introduce databases, BI platforms, or OLAP cubes — but these require specialist IT skills, rigid schemas decided in advance, and lengthy implementation cycles. Business users lose control of their own analysis.

Azquo was built to resolve this tension. It gives spreadsheet users the power of a database — scalability, audit trails, shared data, automatic aggregation — without taking them out of Excel or making them dependent on IT.

What Sets Azquo Apart – Why Azquo

Compliance Without Rigidity

Control Without Disruption

Flexibility Without Chaos

Clarity Without Technical Barriers

Why Azquo? We’re Schema-Free, Yet Structured

Azquo has no tables or columns in the relational sense. There are no fixed schemas and no predefined cube structures. Data of any shape — transactional line items, summary budgets, planning parameters, operational metrics — can be loaded into the same database at any time, without migration scripts or structural changes. Yet the data is fully structured through hierarchies that Azquo maintains automatically, enabling aggregation, drill-down, and cross-cutting analysis at any level.

Names Belong to Any Number of Hierarchies

In conventional systems, an entity lives in one dimension: a product is in the product dimension, a date is in the time dimension, and crossing those boundaries requires restructuring. In Azquo, any name can appear in any number of sets simultaneously. A product might sit under Menswear in a merchandising hierarchy, under Items sourced using green energy in a sustainability grouping, and under Q4 promotional lines in a campaign set — all at the same time.

This matters practically because new groupings can be created at any time in response to events or business needs — a new regulatory category, a recall batch, a strategic initiative — and they immediately become available in reports. There is no need to add columns to a table, rebuild a cube, or modify ETL pipelines.

Flexible Peer Structure

Unlike OLAP cubes that require a fixed number of dimensions per fact, Azquo values can have varying numbers of peers. A sales order value might be peered to five names (week, channel, year, scenario, measure), while a postage rate might need only three. Both coexist in the same database with no structural compromise.

Reusable Analytical Templates

Because report templates reference Azquo names rather than fixed cell ranges, a P&L, variance analysis, or allocation model can be built once as a spreadsheet template, then applied to any number of data sets — different years, divisions, or scenarios — without rebuilding the report. This eliminates one of the most common sources of spreadsheet error and wasted effort.
